Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma on Tuesday reviewed the Veryfast, a new software application for passport verification. In view of increasing applications across the Telangana State, the DGP reviewed with all district SPs and Special Branch officials down to head constables concerned, saying that the issue of passport was a service to the people and there should be a time-frame for the issue of passports to the applicants.

Hyderabad: Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma on Tuesday reviewed the Veryfast, a new software application for passport verification. In view of increasing applications across the Telangana State, the DGP reviewed with all district SPs and Special Branch officials down to head constables concerned, saying that the issue of passport was a service to the people and there should be a time-frame for the issue of passports to the applicants. “The current scenario in the state is much better than what used to be earlier after procuring the ‘Veryfast’ application,” he said.

The DGP stated that two phases of training will be imparted to the officers shortly on the use of application on tabs . He further stated that the first batch of training would be held at Warangal shortly which would cover the districts of Adilabad, Khammam and Karimnagar and the training for the remaining districts would be held at Hyderabad. After the training, the iPads would be given to all the stakeholders.

The benefits of this new application would reduce the huge amount of paperwork in special branches and would create more citizen friendly and pro-active by which the performance by individual units would also get reflected in their monthly reports submitted to the DGP.
