Hyderabad: Though only two days are left for the budget session of Telangana Assembly to be completed, it is learnt that the government is now seriously thinking of lifting the suspension of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislators. Taking note of TDP MLAs protest for the last two days on this issue, Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao said that the government would consider revoking suspension of the MLAs if the legislators gave a written apology.Interacting with press persons in Assembly lobbies, Harish Rao asked the rival party members to write a letter to the Speaker in this connection, instead of resorting to protests.

“Outside the House, TDP legislators are making statements that they tendered apology on the issue of insulting National Anthem. However, it must be noted that they did not bother to apologise, despite the Speaker giving them four opportunities on March 9, the second day of the budget session,” Harish recalled.Even Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reportedly expressed displeasure over the behaviour of his party MLAs from Telangana. Moreover, Telangana government’s efficiency in smooth conducting of the House proceedings could be judged easily if one took a look at the utter chaos prevailing in Andhra Pradesh Assembly, he felt.

When asked about any chance of extending the ongoing budget session by two or three days, he replied in the negative. “The thing is, Opposition itself is very pleased to have got ample opportunities to express views on different subjects in the present session. The government is unlikely to extend the session if no such demand comes from Opposition,” the Minister said.On the other hand, Harish stated that Telangana had sorted out power woes completely. He reiterated that agriculture would get uninterrupted supply of nine hours of power from the next season.

Earlier, the TTDP members had an altercation with the police at the media point in the Assembly. As the MLAs led by E Dayakar Rao were approaching the media point, police stopped them. The MLAs took strong objection to it and said the civil police had no right to obstruct them and demanded that they produce such orders from the Speaker. “The civil police cannot act or do anything without specific orders from the Speaker,” they told the police who had to retreat following this.
