Hyderabad: MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi advised TRS members in the Telangana State Assembly on Thursday to desist from deriding people as ‘Andhravallu” and ‘Rayalaseemavallu.’ Owaisi’s comments came when he was taking part in a debate on the passage of Appropriation Bill 2015 in the State Assembly. The MIM leader said he was tired of hearing scornful comments targeting the people of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. He questioned leaders asking, “For how long you will continue to seek mileage by labeling the people in such a manner?”

“Whether it is a person of Rayalaseema or Coastal Andhra, anybody residing in Hyderabad is a Hyderabadi. Hyderabad is part of India and citizens of India have the right and freedom to live anywhere in the country,” Owaisi said. It may be recalled that the MIM has put up flexi banners throughout the city in the run-up to the 2014 elections, saying that the AIMIM would take responsibility of the protection of all the denizens of Hyderabad. The flexis carried images of Owaisi brothers’ duo–Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi.
