Heavy Rains disrupt Hyderabad traffic

With light showers witnessed on Saturday, Hyderabad city experienced heavy rains accompanied with hailstorm in some areas on Sunday.

Several low-lying areas were flooded and water-logging was reported in several parts of the city. A hailstorm and thunderstorm warning was issued on Saturday by the Indian Meteorological Department for Telangana and AP.

Weather officials stated that the rains over the past couple of days in Telangana are caused by a upper trough extending from Lakshadweep till Chhattisgarh. Excessive rainfall was witnessed in seven districts of Telangana State along with Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.
