Party leaders meet Speaker; seek immediate action against the members who left TDP to join TRS

Hyderabad: The Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders on Wednesday called on Speaker S Madhusudhanachari and asked him to take a decision on disqualification of MLAs who had left TDP and joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Speaking to the media after meeting the Speaker, party leader A Revanth Reddy said they had sought disqualification of Ibrahimpatnam TDP MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy who joined TRS recently.

TDP MLAs Maganti Gopinath, Revanth Reddy and party Telangana State president L Ramana coming out of the Assembly after meeting the Speaker in Hyderabad on Wednesday Revanth Reddy said there was an immediate need to initiate action against the MLAs who changed their party. He questioned the TRS leaders as to how the Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadium Srihari could continue as the Minister and MP at the same time, and demanded for immediate action against Srihari.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the TRS leaders were escaping by giving false explanations and demanded that the Speaker initiate action immediately against the MLAs who changed their party without tendering their resignation. He also alleged that the Parliamentary Secretaries system was against the law, adding that they had filed a case against the system in High Court.

Lashing out at the TRS government, the TDP floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao challenged the TDP MLAs who joined TRS to tender their resignations and contest elections if they had guts. “Otherwise, the people will chase the MLAs from the villages,” Errabelli said.

Stating that the Deputy Speaker post had been losing its sheen, Errabelli said that Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy was participating in party programmes and behaving against the spirit of the Constitution. He said that he had urged the Speaker to protect the constitutional values.
