The editors of the Outlook magazine have come forward expressing regret over the article ‘No boring babu’ that drew public criticism. Claiming that the article had not cited any names or specifics, the editors said that it was not intended to be derogatory in any way.

The article ‘No boring babu’ spoke about how a woman bureaucrat in the Telangana Chief Minister's office is making a fashion statement with her lovely saris and serves as 'eye candy' at all the meetings.

Even though there was no name mentioned in the article, it was believed to be aimed at IAS officer and Additional secretary to the Telangana chief minister's office, Smita Sabharwal who responded by sending a legal notice to the Outlook magazine for the distasteful, cheap, titillating article and also demanded an apology.

Outlook clarified that the article was part of satire carried in the magazine meant to be received in a lighter vein and expressed regret if any offence was taken.
