Nizamabad: The Nizamsagar Command Area Protection Committee on Thursday welcomed the CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao proposal to announce Singooru project as a balancing reservoir for Nizamsagar project and solve the water scarcity problem for these two projects to diverting from Kaleshwaram lift Irrigation Scheme.

Nizamsagar Command area Protection Committee Convener M. Appireddi today thanked the State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for setting Singoor project as a balancing reservoir for Nizamsagar project. Speaking on the occasion, Appireddi alleged that the Andhra rulers destroyed the Nizamsagar project catchment and command area with their unnecessary actions.

He said if the Chief Minister’s promises fulfill the Nizamsagar project command area, farmers should survive another 50 years without any problems. He said the Andhra rulers diverted the Singooru water for the Hyderabad drinking water purpose and neglected the ‘lower riparian rights’ of the Manjeera catchment area people and Nizamsagar project farmers.

He requested KCR to fulfill his promises according to the TRS election manifesto and take action to Singooru project as balancing reservoir and divert the Godavari water to Nizamsagar project through Kaleshwaram diversion scheme. Committee members Aakula Papaiaha, Naykwadi Narsaiaha, Gangadhar Rao Desai, Mara Gangareddi and other farmers organizations’ members participated in the media meet.
