Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said that his government has to do a lot for the welfare and development of Muslim Minorities in the new T state.

Attired in ‘ Nizami’ Sherwani and white ‘Rumi’ cap , the Chief Minister participated in the government hosted Iftar party, attended by Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya , Deputy CM Mahmood Ali , Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy, top officials and religious heads here in the evening.

“My government did a little to the Muslims in the last one year. Distribution of clothes to poor and organising Iftar parties at all mosques in Ramzan month is only a beginning,” he said. KCR further said that the holistic development of the minorities was one of the top priorities of his government.

Reiterating that no power cuts would be imposed in the State in the future, KCR said the cosmopolitan culture of the city and it’s ‘Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb’ brought international recognition to Telangana. Mahatma Gandhi also acknowledged the ‘true secularism’ communal harmony of T region during his visit to Hyderabad.

Stating that injustice was done to Telangana in water sharing between AP and T State after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister said his government would soon find a solution to get its due share in the river waters.
