Speaking at the ‘International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF)- World Congress 2015’, here on Friday, KTR said the State government was taking all the measures to ensure the rapid growth of pharma industry.

He said about one-third of global vaccines are manufactured in Hyderabad and the city is already an established bulk drug hub of the country. Also, about 40 per cent of country’s pharmaceutical products manufacture here, the minister added.

The 61st IPSF World Congress for the first time in India, which began here on Friday, would conduct a host of workshops and two important symposiums on education and scientific innovations apart from other activities.

Pharmacy Council of India President Dr B Suresh said, “There are one million registered pharmacists graduated from across 1,500 pharmacy colleges. Every year, about one lakh pharmacy students graduate in the country.”

The ‘61st IPSF World Congress 2015’ will be a 10-day event focussing on public health campaigns, workshops, industrial visits, clinical skills presentations and compounding events blended with various themes social evenings, he said. “We expect over 350 people from 55 plus countries,” said Dr B Suresh.
