Hyderabad: Minister for Industries, Handlooms, Textiles and Sugar Jupally Krishna Rao on Monday visited paper products division of Telangana State Trade Promotion Corporation (TSTPC) engaged in manufacture and sale of note books. He also visited Container Freight Station located at Mamidipally of Ranga Reddy District.


The Minister inspected the process of notebook manufacturing and distribution and checked the quality of paper and quality of notebooks and other items. He appreciated the team for doing a good business even after State bifurcation. The Minister instructed the TSTPC team to put good quotations and brief history of Telangana in both languages – Telugu and English and also other development programmes being implemented by the TRS government for education in the notebooks.


The Corporation has kept a target of Rs 45 crore for 2015-16 financial year for selling of notebooks. So far, Rs 34 crore worth business was achieved and it hopes to do Rs 45 crore business this year. Even though the State bifurcation had happened, TSTPC got orders from both the States and from open market also. The Minister also visited the office and godowns of notebooks and notebooks raw materials.


He also visited the newly-developed Container Freight Station. The Container Freight Station is developed in 7.1 acres of land with Rs 14 crore for the use of trade and industry in the surrounding districts for the bonding and de-bonding their export, import and stuffing and de-stuffing container activities etc. The Container Freight Station facility was opened for operations from May 1 this year.


The Minister reviewed activities of TSTPC and instructed the officials to increase the notebook business and the container freight station business. He said he wanted to develop TSTPC as the main trade promotion corporation for exporting textiles and handicraft products and also for online trade of these products.
