Outlook Magazine and Ms Tata had received a notice earlier from the Central Crime Station (CCS) under Section 41 A for allegedly defaming a female IAS officer of Telangana through an article and a cartoon.

CCS registered a case based on the complaint filed by the officer’s husband. Ms Tata and cartoonist Sahil’s statements were recorded before the investigating officer. CCS DCP T. Prabhakar informed that based on the status of the case, further action will be decided.

Outlook magazine in its July 7 edition published an article in its “Deep Throat” column titled “No boring babu” that alleged that the female officer, made “fashion statements with her lovely saris at every meeting chaired by the Chief Minister and serves as ‘eye candy’.

The article was depicted through a cartoon with the female officer walking the ramp in Western outfits. A case was registered by CCS police against Outlook and its staff under Section 509, read with Section 3 of IT Act 67.
