GHMC will charge you Rs 50 to clean your garbage
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has come up with a policy of charging money for the garbage collection. The GHMC is likely to charge Rs 50 per house every month for garbage collection. This approach is to be started once the tippers become operational and the garbage collection begins.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has come up with a policy of charging money for the garbage collection. The GHMC is likely to charge Rs 50 per house every month for garbage collection. This approach is to be started once the tippers become operational and the garbage collection begins.
Currently, Rs 50 – 100 are being collected per house in the colonies every month. A fixed rate will be given to the garbage collectors every month with no additional charges except if a resident willingly pays extra. GHMC has procured 2,500 tippers for the colonies while tricycles will be utilized for bastis.
Under the driver-cum-owner scheme, the tippers are sold and then the payment for collection will be implemented. Daily, the waste at the dustbins will be cleared and each driver will be allotted around 800 households. GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar informed that under the Swachh Hyderabad programme, the tippers will be distributed for door-to-door garbage collection.
