He explained in detail how the government is working out plans to set up power plants targeting to produce about 20,000 MW by 2019-20. “We have already cleared 12,000 MW power plants where work orders have been issued and 4,000 MW was mandated to NTPC, which is already in the job,” he pointed out.
On infrastructure development, the Chief Minister said that the government has already earmarked Rs 4,000 crore and more plans are under way. He even offered land to the industry to develop their own townships providing residential options to their staff. “We have enough land pool and ready to offer land for residential purposes, if the industries come forward to develop.”
Besides, Rao said that the government is working out a comprehensive code for the real estate sector and is in talks with the developers body CREDAI. “The proposed code will be on the lines of Green Buildings,” he revealed. Earlier, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sarma presented the government plans to support the industry. He said the government is working out various lucrative plans from supplying power and water without any restrictions and explained about the single window scheme.
