Hyderabad: The three-day second annual School Leaders Convention of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS), Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas has concluded on a grand note at Telangana State Institute of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Rajendra Nagar here on Saturday.

Addressing the school principals and special officers at the valedictory ceremony, Telangana Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Eatala Rajender said, “There is no progress without sacrifice. In every field, you will find those people in few numbers. Behind the success of children there is the sacrifice of parents and teachers which, I feel, is not well recognised by the society.

I always recall late Abdul Kalam’s love for children. Though we are technologically advanced, I feel that we have not yet reached the society that was dreamed by Dr BR Ambedkar.” The Minister said development with equal distribution was the real development and that was the need of the hour. “Education is not expenditure but an investment.

I appreciate the efforts put by the residential institutions and the leaders for doing wonders in the field of education.” GD Aruna, Principal Secretary to government, Tribal Welfare, said, “School is the second house for children. It is the responsibility of teachers to touch the heart of the child.

If you can remember the name of every child you are the best teacher ever." Dr R S Praveen Kumar, IPS, Secretary, TSWREIS & TTSWREIS explained the significance of the convention in the light of the changed circumstances and the dynamic role need to be played by the school leaders.
