The PIL Bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising of Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosle and Justice SV Bhatt on Monday dismissed as withdrawn an unnumbered writ plea challenging the continuance of food subsidy in the canteen of Parliament.

Dr G Harikishan Goud filed a writ seeking a declaration that the action of the respondents in continuing the Food subsidy in canteen of Parliament House complex as illegal, arbitrary and contrary to the principles of constitution and consequently direct the respondents to divert the fund to utilise in alleviation of poverty schemes/projects and welfare of poor citizen.


The Acting Chief Justice pointing wondered as how he can array speaker of Lok Sabha as a party to the writ petition. The petitioner then chose to withdraw the writ petition.
