Hyderabad: TRS is gearing up for the GHMC elections. As a first step, the party which does not have a very strong base in the city has decided to set up its party office in the MLA quarters in Adarsh Nagar. The new office will be inaugurated by Dussehra. The TRS Greater Hyderabad president Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao said though party unit scouted different locations in various parts, it ultimately decided on having office in MLA quarters.

Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao would be invited for the office inauguration. In case he would be preoccupied with important works, IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao would be requested to complete the formalities.
Mynampalli, who was elected unanimously as president of the Greater Hyderabad unit on April 20, has been focusing on strengthening the party, division wise, in view of GHMC elections, due for end of this year.

With number of divisions likely to be increased to 200 from the existing 150 after delimitation process, he has been extensively visiting each division for the last few months. Several rounds of meetings were organised to identify active members, who were later inducted into division committees. Next on the agenda were constituency-wise meetings, after which various affiliate committees of Greater Hyderabad unit such as minority, SC and ST, women, student and youth would be constituted.

According to Mynampalli, Greater Hyderabad unit would have its full organisational set up ready by the time of city office launch. The party think-tank wants the job completed in the next few weeks to give at least three months time for the city leadership to hit top gear before civic body polls.

The State capital region has been one of the weakest links for TRS since its inception and it wants to do away with that tag. The upcoming GHMC elections offer a good opportunity for the ruling party to show its might and silence its critics. And Mynampalli, known to be a crowd puller and his team were on that job assigned by party president.
