Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali handed over a cheque of Rs 2 lakh, released through Chief Ministers Relief Fund (CMRF), to a poor patient Dilshad Khatoon for kidney transplantation on Sunday. Apart from this, he personally gave an additional amount of Rs 50,000 for post-surgery expenses to the family members of the patient at Yashoda Multispecialty Hospital, Malakpet.

He also met doctors and other paramedical team members to enquire about her present status and was satisfied to note the patient’s steady response to post surgery care and treatment. Dilshad Khatoon, aged 27 years, was diagnosed with failure of both kidneys just after two months of marriage. Her Husband Md Majid, a poor daily wager, exhausted all his resources and approached the Deputy CM’s office for help.

Considering the urgency, a letter of credit to the concerned hospital was released, based on which, through the Jeevan Daan programme, got a matching donor and has undergone kidney transplantation a few days ago at Yashoda Multispecialty Hospital Malakpet.

A cheque for Rs 2 lakh was released from the CMRF, which was handed over to her family members on Sunday.Her family members expressed gratitude for the quick response of the Telangana government which came to the aid of a poor woman and gave her a chance to live once again.
