Telangana to announce new districts
The districts in Telangana are all set to be reorganized after a gap of 37 years. Based on population and administrative convenience, the state will carving out 10-14 new districts in addition to the existing 10 districts.

With the cabinet approving the district reorganization, an official committee will be constituted by the government for the same. According to the Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Districts (Formation) Act, 1974, the reorganisation work will take place and the work will begin once the official committee under the chairmanship of chief secretary is constituted.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao after the formation of Telangana state had assured to create new districts and thus the assurances made by KCR will be considered during the creation of new districts by the committee.
