GHMC gears up for rain related emergencies

Hyderabad: In view of heavy rain forecasts for the next one week, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has made special arrangements in the city to mitigate the problems of common man. GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Thursday directed commissioners working in all 24 circles to activate the emergency teams.

Somesh Kumar ordered all zonal commissioners, deputy commissioners and executive engineers to activate 86 emergency teams under the GHMC limits. “Ensure that all the teams are functional with focused movement in critical areas,” Somesh Kumar said to the commissioners. He also guided them to ensure proper monitoring and schedule for the emergency team.

The Commissioner said special arrangements were made for regular monitoring of nala flows and immediate removal of floating material.
