Hyderabad: Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan dedicated Medical Biotechnology Complex of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad to the nation.

Speaking on the occasion on Saturday, Harsh Vardhan said the purpose of Medical Biotechnology was to translate high quality research generated at CCMB for the health care sector.

“Science has the potential to solve the basic problems of the mankind and research should focus on the needs of the people,” he said adding that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave importance to the science.

Y Sujana Chowdary, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, released the brochure on Medical Biotechnology and said most of the CSIR institutions were depending on the government funding and run on budgetary support.

Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister of State for Labour, praised the outstanding performance of the scientists at CCMB. Ch Mohan Rao, Director,

CCMB gave an overview of the new facility which has three components Clinical Research Facility, Nano-biology Laboratory for Biomedical Applications and Common Research and Technology Hub.
