GHMC to identify SC, ST, BC voters from today

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set to start door-to-door survey to identify SC, ST and BC voters in the city limits from Wednesday to November 15.

GHMC Commissioner B Jandardhan Reddy on Tuesday held a teleconference with Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners and directed them hold booth-level meetings to initiate the door-to-door campaign.

Reddy asked the officials to collect signatures, and mobile phone numbers from at least one family member from each household living under the GHMC limits. He also directed them to collect the signatures from the neighbouring residents, if found door locked and stressed the officials gather the information with full proof.

The GHMC Commissioner further stated that each Booth Level Officer (BLO) will cover about 50 households per day. He asked the officials to collect the suggestions and claims received in a written form from the political parties and residents and send them to the GHMC head office for the further process. Every claim and suggestion would be recorded for future use, he added.

He said the pre-election process would be completed by December 15, and would hold the elections by January.
