Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Thursday sought suggestions from the citizens in building Hyderabad a global smart city.

Speaking to media, Reddy requested the citizens under the GHMC limits to send their opinions and suggestions for further improvement of basic amenities like sanitation, drinking water facilities, roads etc. He asked the denizens to send their feedback and suggestions to [email protected] or by logging on to website www.hyderabadsmartcity.co.in.

Reddy further stated that the civic body has also held special meetings at circle-level with residential welfare associations and sought several opinions from them. He said this was a wonderful opportunity for citizens to renovate their city, which has been selected in the list of hundred smart cities. The GHMC Commissioner opined that public participation will ensure in improving quality of in life in twin cities.

Meanwhile, Reddy said the GHMC has decided to hold meeting with 14 other departments including Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) officials at 11 am on Thursday. He said the civic body would seek their co-ordination in order to save crores of public money and to improve basic amenities in the city limits. The development would not possible and visible without proper co-ordination from other departments in the GHMC limits, he felt.
