Korutla (Karimnagar): Internal bickering in Metpalli Telangana Rashtra Samithi came to the fore with some of the councillors of Metpalli Municipality complaining against the Chairperson, Marri Uma Devi on Thursday.

About 12 councillors, led by Vice-Chairman Margam Gangadhar submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Deputy Engineer, Sampath Rao, asking him to probe into the irregularities that took place in the execution of various works in the municipality limits. They wanted the DE to order for vigilance enquiry into various works.

In another incident, a municipal general body meeting scheduled on Tuesday was also cancelled since the Vice-Chairman group gave ultimatum to the Commissioner to boycott the meeting if the authorities failed to postpone the meeting. They have decided to boycott the meeting on the pretext that there were mistakes in the agenda.

The cold war between the Chairman and Vice-Chairman groups has been going on since a long time and it came to limelight with the lodging of a complaint. The Chairperson became single as majority of the councillors were supporting the Vice-Chairman. Out of 24 councillors, most of them were supporting Gangadhar. According to a TRS source, though the councillors were showing irregularities as the reason for the complaint, but non-allocation of works to others was the main reason.
