Medak: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao disclosed that the flagship programme of Mission Bhagiratha to supply safe drinking waters to every household would begin on April 30. The Chief Minister announced this while laying foundation stone for Horticulture University, Agriculture University and the Centre for Excellence at Mulug in Medak district.

He said his government would keep its promise of launching drinking water programme from Gajwel in Medak district from April 30. He also said efforts were being made to transform Telangana into the seed bowl of India as it would get the best equipped laboratories in horticulture and farm sector. Extending thanks to Radha Mohan Singh, the Chief Minister hoped that the three institutes would come up in a sprawling 1,300-acre campus and would fortify the farm and horticulture sectors.

He urged Singh to help the State to have more number of storage houses and help the farm sector. He said Rs 50 crore would be spent for setting up Forest College in Gajwel and Rs 20 crore for setting up cold storage plant at Ontimamidi Market Yard in the district. The Chief Minister also urged the Centre to help Telangana develop in agriculture sector. “We will follow the instructions given by Union Agriculture Minister for farm sector
development,” he said.
