Nizamabad: Former Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud demanded the State government to immediately slap murder and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Atrocity cases against the Armoor MLA A Jeevan Reddy and conduct an enquiry against him by the CBI or a sitting Judge of the High Court for his role in the deaths of two dalits.

Yashki participated in a protest rally on Monday organised by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising political parties, peoples’ organisations and dalits organizations against the deaths of dalit activists Talari Satyam and Chepuri Ravi. It is a weeklong protest programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhu Yashki alleged that with the advent of TRS, the feudal landlords have come back to power in the Telangana State and started harassing the dalits. Thousands of people belonging to the poor and the downtrodden communities like scheduled tribes, scheduled castes , minorities and the backward classes were suffering now though they made lot of sacrifices fighting for the separate Telangana State. It was unfortunate that the TRS government was promoting casteism, he lamented.

Yashki alleged that Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy threatened the dalit activist Satyam to withdraw the case, which he filed against him in the State High Court, He said MLA threatened Satyam that he would be killed if he failed to withdraw the case within one month in front of Ambedkar statue. He finally got them murdered in a pre-planned accident with his relative’s truck when Satyam refused to withdraw the case.

Aakula Lalitha, Congress MLC demanded a judicial enquiry on this issue and provide help to the deceased families. CPI(ML) New Democracy leader V. Prabhakar said that the landlords have regained power in Telangana villages in the form of TRS leaders but the SCs, STs, BCs and minorities once again were being subjected to exploitation. He demanded that police to immediately register case on MLA Jeevan Reddy under prevention of SC, ST Atrocities and also a murder case.

On the occasion, Congress leaders Yashki, Lalitha and Mahesh Goud gave Rs 50,000 cheque to the Satya,’s father Gangadhar (Bakanna). District CPI general secretary Dandi Venkat, CITU leaders Ramesh Babu, CPI leader Bhoomanna, Congress Nizamabad Urban in-charge Mahesh Kumar Goud, TDP Armoor Assembly constituency in-charge Rajaram Yadav and large number of dalit activists were present.
