Eight children taken ill after taking mid-day meals

Banswada (Nizamabad): Eight students of the Kona Banswada High School of Banswada town in Nizamabad district were taken ill after they consumed contaminated stale food during lunch on Monday. They suffered vomiting and diarroeha.

While 20 students consumed the food, eight of them became critically ill. The school teachers and staff immediately sent them to the Banswada government hospital for treatment.

The parents and villagers alleged that the mid-day meal agency workers were not cleaning the vessels properly and accused them of supplying stale food.
