World Water Day observed
World Water Day was celebrated at the National Thermal Power Corporation in Ramagundam on Tuesday, with a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
Karimnagar: World Water Day was celebrated at the National Thermal Power Corporation in Ramagundam on Tuesday, with a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The theme for the year 2016 is water and jobs and focusing on how sufficient quantities of pure water can change workers' lives and livelihoods and even transform societies and economies.
For the awareness of employees and others, the world water day was celebration at NTPC with the display of banners and placards emphasizing the importance of freshwater. In the run-up to the WWD, essay writing and tree plantation was carried out at Kasthurba Gandhi Girls High School, Kundanpalli earlier.
The NTPC has been taking up several initiatives towards water conservation including recycling of water, Storm water management and drinking water supply to nearby villages.
