Birkur (Nizamabad): The Saptah pooja of Sant Tukaram was conducted with great fanfare in the Anjaneya Swamy temple at Bhairapur village of Birkur mandal in the district on Friday. Hundreds of devotees participated in the bhajans and keertans in the temple.
Speaking to the4 media, the Bhajana mandali committee member Srinivas said that the saptah pooja of Tukaram was being celebrated in the temple for the last 28 years. Tukaram was a seventeenth century saint of Maharashtra and a devotree of Lord Vishnu who composed several abhangs in Marathi. Village sarpanch, deputy sarpanch Mohan, ZPTC members and other were present.
