He spoke to media here on Wednesday before leaving to study the prevailing drought conditions in various mandals in the district with other state party leaders. He alleged that the ruling TRS government was more interested in encouraging defections from Opposition parties and never bothered about the public problems in the State. He asked the government to explain what it did in the last two years.

Laxman informed that the BJP is welcoming construction of projects on Krishna and Godavari rivers for the welfare of both State and public in the long run. But at the same time, the BJP was opposing the government for ignoring short and medium measures to troubleshoot the problems which rises from time-to-time to cater the essential needs of the public.

He demanded the providing of drinking water to public, animals and birds in view of the coming summer and the existing drought conditions. The Central government was taking all measures to save farmers and agriculture sector in the country. He advised the State government to utilise of Rs 790 crore which the Centre had sanctioned under drought relief measure quota properly.

The BJP leader said that the party alliance with TDP was almost over and the party state unit was preparing plans to develop on its own strength to get good results in 2019 general elections. Party state leaders Sridhar Reddy, Pradeep Kumar, Bangaru Sruthi, district leaders Veerelly Chandra Shekar, Oruganti Ramulu, Goli Madhusudhan Reddy, Baki Papaiah, Bandaru Prasad, N Venkat Narayana Reddy, Morishetty Nageswar Rao and others were present during the press meet.

As a part of their programme, the BJP delegation, under the leadership of BJLP floor leader, toured in some of the villages in Nalgonda and Kangal, Thipparthy, Nidmanoor , Halia and Peddavoora mandals in the district. During the tour they examined the dried up crops and interacted with farmers to know their problems.
