Vemulawada (Karimnagar): With just a couple of days to go for the celestial wedding of Lord Rama, the coordination committee of the historic Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam at Vemulawada in Karimnagar district which met here on Tuesday, discussed the measures to be taken for the grand success of the festival.

The meeting which was presided over by Sircilla RDO Bikshu Naik, has decided to install five LED plasma television sets on the temple premises to ensure that all the devotees witness the Lord’s wedding without any problem. Apart from this, 150 drinking water taps and three chalivendrams will also be made available in the temple town for the convenience of the devotees.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Temple Executive Officer D Rajeshwar said: “Three vehicle parking places have been identified to avoid traffic congestion in the temple town. As many as 500 sanitation workers will be pressed into the service to keep the temple premises clean.”

Keeping in view the large number of devotees thronging the temple on the day of Sri Rama Navami slated for April 15, the authorities also decided to deploy 20 medical officers and 92 paramedical staff. Apart from this, six First Aid centres will be set up while keeping two 108 ambulances ready at their disposal.

The TSRTC will press into service 64 special buses from temple town to other destinations in addition to the 60 buses running from Warangal depot to Vemulawada.

Nagara Panchayat chairperson Namala Uma Laxmirajyam, vice-chairman Ramakrishna, Municipal Commissioner K Srihari, Vemulawada bus depot manager Srinath, Temple executive engineer Rajaiah, deputy engineer Raghunandan, and other officials–Harikishan, Devender, Gourinath, Uma Rani and PRO Chandrasekhar Upadhyayula were present.
