On Wednesday afternoon, the high tension wires passing over her fields raised fire sparks due to friction and dropped on the crop. Fire engulfed and destroyed the entire crop. Manemma said that she cultivated a new type paddy this time and that many farmers asked the seed for Rs 1,600 per quintal. The fire cost her loss of Rs 80,000.
