Plans to spruce up Bhadrachalam temple
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday directed the Endowments Department officials and Stapati to prepare a plan for the comprehensive development of Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Bhadrachalam.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday directed the Endowments Department officials and Stapati to prepare a plan for the comprehensive development of Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Bhadrachalam.
The Chief Minister reviewed the plans to develop the Bhadrachalam temple at his camp office here on Wednesday. The officials made a PowerPoint presentation on the current situation of the temple, kalyana mandapam, mada veedhi and nearby places.
KCR felt that there was a need to develop Dharmapuri, Kaleshwaram and the other temples situated on the banks of the River Godavari from Basara to Bhadrachalam.
He wanted the officials to concentrate on providing facilities at the temples and directed them to identify open places for organising programmes during the festivals.
He wanted the officials to take up construction, keeping in mind the programmes related to the deity and also the devotees. He wanted the officials to have vast open space and also bigger kalyana mandapam for Sri Rama Navami festival and other programmes.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to maintain the existing garbha gruham of the main temple as it is and make better arrangements for the benefit of devotees.
He asked the officials to examine whether the existing prakaram was sufficient or another one was needed. He also asked the officials to examine conversion of roads around the temple into mada veedhulu.
He asked the officials to develop Mahalakshmi and Andalamma temples, Parnashala, Chitrakoota Mandapam, Jatayuvu Mandapam and other places. He asked the Stapati, temple construction planners, Agama Shastra pundits to sit together and prepare plans as per the suggestions of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.
KCR said he would visit Bhadrachalam and the area around the temple after Sri Rama Navami. He wanted the officials to make Bhadrachalam into a temple city on the lines of Yadagirigutta. Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, Stapati Valli Nayakam, Endowments CE K Venkateshwarlu, temple construction planner Anand Sai, Ravi, Madhusudhan, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Bhoopal Reddy were also present.
