Inspecting the works relating to Mission Bhagiradha in the town, Additional Secretary Sabharwal said that drinking water would be provided to the people of Nizamabad Municipal corporation and to  Armur, Bodhan, Kamareddy municipalities and other far off places.    

Nizamabad: Additional Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) Smitha Sabharwal on Tuesday said that the works relating to renovation of tanks under Mission Bhagiratha, taken up by the Telangana Government on a prestigious note was going on smoothly without any hurdles. Once these works were completed, five lakh water tap connections would be given to every household to provide drinking water by 2017, she added.

Inspecting the works relating to Mission Bhagiradha in the town, Additional Secretary Sabharwal said that drinking water would be provided to the people of Nizamabad Municipal corporation and to Armur, Bodhan, Kamareddy municipalities and other far off places.

She also inspected the works relating to the construction of intech well, water grid treatment plant and pumping well near the Singur Project at Peddareddypeta taken up at the cost of Rs 1300 crore and expressed satisfaction over the pace of works.

Speaking on the occasion, Smitha Sabharwal described the Mission Bhagiratha project as the jewel in the crown of the Telangana State Government which got global recognition. She advised the officials concerned to complete the laying of pipelines fast to supply the water and made it clear to them that they should not compromise on the quality of the works. The construction works of the pipelines should be completed by the end of May so that the farmers may not be inconviences, she added.

The Additional Secretary said that the capacity of the water treatment plant was filling 14. 5 crore litres of water every day. She said that Singur water would be purified and supplied through pumping from Tadamanur to all villages in Jukkal, Banswada and Bodhan constituencies and also to some villages in Yellareddy constituencies. Later, she also examined the Mission Kakatiya works at Jalalpur which were takne up with the backwaters of Sriram Sagar Plant.

Nizamabad District Collector Yogitha Rana, Medak District Collector Ronald Ross, Mission Bhagiradha chief Engineer Jaganmohan Reddy and others were present.
