Expedite Bhagiratha works: Smita Sabharwal

Asifabad (Adilabad): Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister Smita Sabharwal has directed the officials to complete Mission Bhagiratha works on a war-footing basis.

Sabharwal, who inspected the works of intake well and pump house at Mankwada villages under Asifabad mandal on Wednesday, enquired about the progress of works. She directed the officials to give preference to local labourers in the works besides ensuring drinking water and other amenities. Stating that Adilabad district was reeling under acute drought conditions, she emphasised the need for completing the works in double quick time. She also inspected Ada project right canal works and protected water plant at Dhanora village.

While referring to the quality of works, Sabharwal warned that stringent action will be taken against the officials if the government finds any discrepancy in the Mission works. She was accompanied by Haritha Haram OSD Priyanka Varghese, District Collector Jaganmohan, Utnoor ITDA project officer RV Karnan and water grid chief engineer Jaganmohan Reddy.
