Birkoor (Nizamabad): Residents of YSR colony in the Birkoor mandal headquarters in the district sat on a dharna at the MPDO office with empty vessels on Saturday protesting against the non-supply of water for the last three weeks. They demanded the resignation of MPP president M Meena and Sarpanch Narasaiah for their indifference and failure in getting the water crisis resolved.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, MPTC member Sudhakar Yadav said that Damarancha sarpanch Narasaiah was totally indifferent though water supply has been stopped in Damarancha village. He said that there were 350 people in the village and they were facing immense hardships.
They called off their dharna and dispersed after the assistant engineer of the Rural Water Supply Department Nagendra Kumar assured them that water would be supplied in another two days.
