In an initiative taken up for restoring the confidence in the services, the KUDA has took a major step forward to bring in transparency in the process of LRS approvals. This apart, the online process is also expected to provide relief to the denizens as they don’t have to run pillar to post to know the status of their application in the wake of complaints of irregularities in the LRS approvals and delay.

It may be mentioned here that government had launched LRS and Building Regularisation schemes giving an opportunity for the regularisation of encroached government lands and illegally built structures in all municipalities across the State last year. Against this backdrop, the KUDA had received as many as 23,314 applications for the LRS.

Once the applicant fulfils these requirements, a team of officials will make an onsite inspection to verify the facts. The officials, who carry, will upload all the findings of their inspection in the ‘Field Inspection App’, specifically designed for the purpose, including the photos of the site. These photo copies of the site are instantly overlaid on the Google map along with the coordinates.

If the facts provided are found authentic, the officials will immediately the issue proceedings of the LRS to the applicants. If there is any discrepancy, the officials will update them online seeking fulfilment of shortcomings.

KUDA Planning Officer E Ajith Reddy said: “The plan is to provide the denizens a hassle free process. They don’t have to make rounds of officials to get the LRS approvals. Once the LRS is approved, the applicant can download their proceedings online from their homes.”

He expressed confidence that the online process which they began recently not only avoid irregularities in the LRS but also helps people getting approvals in much quicker time than in the past.
