Declaring the results, Education Minister Kadiam Srihari said while the Backward Classes Welfare Residential Schools topped the list with 96.84 per cent of its students passing the exam, the government schools’ performance was ranked the lowest, at 77.80 per cent.

Interestingly, number of students passing SSC examination in Telangana has registered 8 percent increase compared to last year. The overall percentage for this year was 85.63 percent as against 77.56 percent last year.

The percentages of other districts are Medak (90.74), Nizamabad (90.04), Karimnagar (86.40), Khammam (84.62), Nalgonda (83.75), Adilabad (82.23) and Ranga Reddy (82.07).

Out of the 5,55,265 students appeared for the examination, 4,44,828 have passed. Off the 35,771 private candidates, 14,136 have passed. The pass percentage of regular candidates has been 85.63.

The boys pass percentage was 84.70 per cent while the girls pass percentage was 86.57 per cent showing a difference of 1.87 per cent. The pass percentage during 2015 was 77.56 per cent showing an increase of 8.07 per cent.

Srihari said this year 2,379 schools secured 100 per cent result and ten schools, including one government, one aided and eight private schools secured 'zero' pass percentage.

SSC advanced supplementary examinations will be held between June 15 and June 29 from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm. Failed candidates have been asked not to wait for the results or re-counting and apply for the advanced supplementary examinations. The last date for remittance of examination fee by the students to the respective school principals is May 26.

Subject-wise performance statements (grade sheets) would be given to all the candidates within 10 days to facilitate admission into first year Intermediate, the minister said.
