Warangal: In an appalling incident, a man killed his two daughters in a ruthless manner by hitting them to the floor and immolated himself at Pamunoor village of Station Ghanpur on Thursday.

According to Station Ghanpur circle inspector Pulala Kishan, Bathini Srinivas Goud (35) was reportedly suspecting the fidelity of his wife Renuka, who is married to him since eight years. He started abusing her after she gave birth to two daughters accusing her of having illicit relationship with other man.

On Thursday morning, Srinivas, who came home in inebriated condition started an argument with his wife, saying the children were not his own. In a frenzied state he hit his daughters - Akshita (5) and Rasagna (7) - to the floor one after another.

He shoved his wife out of the house, who tried to stop him and locked himself inside. He then doused his two daughters with kerosene and set them ablaze while his wife was crying from outside.

The neighbours, after hearing Renuka crying, tried to break the door open. Then Srinivas doused himself with kerosene and lit himself. By the time the neighbours could open the door and put off the fire, the two children were dead.

Srinivas, who was in a critical condition, was rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal; however he succumbed to his burn injuries. The incident has caused a commotion in the village as its residents were left shocked at the death of infants due to madness of their father. A case in this connection was registered at Station Ghanpur police station.
