Parkal (Warangal): Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari has proposed to upgrade 30-bed government hospital in Parkal to 100-bed hospital. The Deputy CM said a proposal in this connection would be submitted to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He laid foundation stones for various developmental works in the town on Wednesday along with local MLA Ch Dharma Reddy.

Srihari launched the works related to central lighting system, development works of local vegetable market, and construction of new building for town panchayat. Addressing a public gathering on the occasion, he informed that four-lane roads were being laid from four sides of the town.

The works related to roads connecting Parkal-Bhupalpalli, Parkal-Huzurabad, and Parkal-Warangal were under progress. After the road works were completed, the connectivity to the town would be increased. Earlier, Srihari inspected Chalivagu pump house on the outskirts of the town.

He held a review meeting with irrigation officials and suggested to build a new check dam beneath an existing bridge across the stream to store water for three to four months to supply drinking water to the residents in the town. After the completion of Mission Bhagiratha works, Chalivagu would become a picnic spot, he added.

He further informed that of the 250 newly sanctioned residential schools, two would be set up in Parkal constituency. Warangal MP P Dayakar and the MLA Dharma Reddy lauded the efforts being made by the Deputy CM in increasing the road connectivity to the town and to enhance drinking water supply.

With the initiative of the Deputy CM, 18 new roads were being laid to provide connectivity to 45 villages with Rs 22 crores, the MLA said. Dharma Reddy thanked Srihari for ensuring supply of Devadula water into Chalivagu and for making efforts for sanctioning Parkal-Huzurabad four-lane road with Rs 100 crores.
