The delegation comprising senior journalist Varadachari, Senior Journalists Union, Devulapalli Amar, Indian Journalists Union, K Srinivas Reddy, Mana Telangana, Amarnath, Press Council of India member and others submitted a memorandum to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan.

Seeking his intervention in the anti-democratic action of the TDP government, they brought to the notice of the Governor that AP Deputy Chief Minister, who is also Home Minister, Chinarajappa had admitted his government’s role in blocking out the Saakshi TV channel in the wake of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s indefinite fast and anti-government protests all over the State.

Earlier, a large number of journalists took out a rally from the Press Club at Somajiguda to the Raj Bhavan. Armed with placards, the journalists raised slogans like “down with dictatorship” and demanded restoration of the transmission of the channel.
