A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad directed the government to maintain status quo with regard to allotting of specific treatment plants to multiple hospitals in the districts of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy.

The bench made the interim order in a writ plea filed by G J Multi Clave India Private Limited questioning the decision of the government in making the impugned allotments on a zonal basis. It is contended by the petitioner,

which was dealing in bio medical waste treatment and has contracts with various city hospitals that it has the jurisdiction to deal with hospitals within a radius of 150 kms. The government is required to start fresh units if the number of bed strength ratio to the already existing centre exceeds 10,000.

The petitioner pleaded that while it had no issue with the starting of fresh units, the government cannot restrict the already existing petitioner from its zone of work or make allotments by dividing the
district into zones.
