Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswar Rao said that the aim of the State government is to provide entire infrastructure in Khammam city for the comfort of denizens.

Inaugurating several developmental works worth Rs 6.4 crore in the city on Sunday, along with local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, the Minister said that their focus is on providing basic amenities and infrastructure in the city.

“The Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) getting the best municipality award recently from the government indicates that the city is witnessing a continuous development since the TRS came to power,” Tummala said.

Efforts are on to improve medical care facilities in all government hospitals and primary health centres in the district, the Minister said, directing the medical and health officials to maintain hygienic conditions in the habitations in a bid to avoid spread of contagious diseases occur in rainy season.

Earlier, the Minister and the MLA inaugurated the works of 33/11 KV electricity supply sub-station at an estimated cost of Rs 1.50 crore, CC road works in Indira Nagar and Mamillagudem with an outlay of Rs 60 lakh. This apart, they laid foundation stone for the works of Rs 4.30 crore worth bridge across NSP Left Canal near Yellandu Bypass road.

Mayor Dr G Papalal, MLC Balasani Laxminarayana, Deputy Mayor Bathula Murali, DCCB chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, KMC Commissioner Venugopal Reddy and TRS leader Kondabala Koteswar Rao were present.
