Devaruppula (Warangal): Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV), Warangal district committee has distributed free notebooks to 6th to 10th class students of a government high school at a remote village Dharmapuram of Devaruppula mandal in the district.

The JVV president, D Prabhakara Chary, vice-president M Ramulu, general secretary V Raju, treasurer P Umamaheswar Rao and science and communication convener M Venkatesh have raised an amount of Rs 15,000 for the purpose.

During a programme at the school on Sunday, the notebooks were distributed to the students. The school head master Prabhakar Reddy and students have expressed their happiness and thanked JVV and donors for selecting the school for the distribution of notebooks.

On the day, the JVV has organised career development programme for school children and explained latest developments in science and technology. NIT professor CB Rama Rao told the students to set goals and do work hard to achieve them.

JVV president Prabhakara Chary gave a lecture with practical examples dispelling various superstitions. He asked the students to improve their knowledge of science and keep away from blind beliefs.

On the day the JVV has also organised a pharmacovigilance programme in Hanamkonda where an associate professor from KMC Warangal Dr Raju Devde highlighted the importance of generic medicines.
