  • Former legislator and Editor of ‘The Hans India’ Prof K Nageshwar asks the State government to explain why free medical facilities are not provided to its employees

Addressing the gathering, civil rights activist Prof Haragopal observed that the State government must take care of its employees in order to realise the dream of ‘Bangaru Telangana’. “Employees alone help a government to achieve its objectives and providing minimum healthcare benefits to them must be done on priority,” he said.

Citing the example of employees in developed countries, Haragopal said health benefits to employees in these countries had increased the success rate for government to achieve its objectives. Former legislator and Editor of ‘The Hans India’ Prof K Nageshwar asked the State government to explain reasons for not providing free medical facilities to its employees despite having sufficient funds.

He questioned why the State government was not in a position to implement its order on the issue of health cards to employees. He said that nearly four lakh employees would benefit from the move if government implemented its order and issued health cards.

The former legislator asked officials to make adequate budgetary allocations for clearing the PRC arrears amounting to nearly Rs 700 crore and also extend free medical facilities to its employees. Retired judge justice B Chandra Kumar asked the Chief Minister to resolve the issue of PRC arrears on priority basis as it would benefit lakhs of employees.
