Inflows into River Godavari here increased during the past 24 hours on account of heavy rains in upper reaches of the river. The water level, which measured at 17.7 feet here at 6 pm on Saturday rose to 28.5 feet at 12 noon on Sunday and started receding gradually.  

Bhadrachalam: Inflows into River Godavari here increased during the past 24 hours on account of heavy rains in upper reaches of the river. The water level, which measured at 17.7 feet here at 6 pm on Saturday rose to 28.5 feet at 12 noon on Sunday and started receding gradually.

The increase in water level is of the order of 10.8 feet during the last 24 hours. As a result of the inflows, flood water entered the bathing ghats on the banks of the river.

The tributaries of the river Pranahita and Indravati received unprecedented inflows following heavy rain leading to rise in water level in Godavari River, recording the season’s highest inflows into the river.

Several performed pujas to the River Godavari as the dried up river assumed its normal form. Meanwhile, the water level started receding in the river. At 6 pm the water level measured at 28 feet from the previous 28.5 feet. Officials estimated that the level would recede further.

On account of heavy rains in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, the Bogata waterfalls presenting a panoramic view to visitors as the flood water upon entering the Cheekupalli forest area majestically descend from hills.

On Sunday many tourists flocked to Bogata waterfalls area to enjoy themselves the panoramic view of waterfalls descending the hillocks with its grace and majesty.
