SI physical fitness tests conclude

Nizamabad: The physical fitness test to recruit candidates as Sub-Inspectors of Police was held at the Rajaram stadium at Naagaram in the town from June 27 to 5 AM till the evening on Monday from in the presence of the Superintendent of Police P Vishwa Prasad.

While 3587 candidates appeared for the test, 252 women were selected in the 100 meters running race, long jump and shot put. Among men, 1058 were selected in the five events like 100 and 800 meters running race, long jump and shot put.

The District police officials took steps to ensure that there were no discrepancy in the Aadhaar card numbers and other necessary certificates. Candidates were allowed to take part after verifying their certificates. Several counters were opened to verify the certificates.
A Deputy Superintendent of Police level officer was nominated to conduct each sports event to test the physical fitness of candidates.
Physical fitness teachers were also pressed into service to conduct the sports events. Tents were organised and steps were taken to supply potable drinking water to the candidates in the grounds.

Addressing the candidates, the Superintendent of Police said that the process of recruitment to the SI posts were transparent and cautioned the them not to be misled by brokers or middlemen who promise them jobs in the police department.

The SP warned of severe action against those who indulge in corrupt activities in the process of recruitment. He said that the candidates come across any such irregularities, they could dial the mobile cell number 9440795400 and lodge a complaint. He said that the candidates belonging to the minority community should appear on July 9 for the physical fitness test.

Additional district Superintendent of Police Pratap Reddy, District Administrative Officer M D Ghulamand several other DSPs were present.
