18 villages marooned in Adilabad.

​Adilabad: Road communications were severely affected in the district on Saturday as 18 villages were marooned following officials lifting the gate of the Mattadi Vagu project to release flood water.

As inflows into the project are heavy, the officials likely to lift the other gates as well.

In Bejjur Mandal, Kukuda, China Siddapur, Bimba and Kushaipalli streams are in spate marooning 18 villages. As flood water of Jainadh stream has been overflowing the culvert, road communications between Adilabad and Chandrapur have been affected.

There have been heavy inflows into the project and also other projects in the district due to incessant rains lashing the district for the past two days.
