Hyderabad: CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on Wednesday urged Assembly Speaker S Madhusudan Chary to take immediate action against Devarkonda MLA R Ravindra Kumar who defected to ruling TRS.

Speaking to media persons after submitting a petition to the Speaker, Venkat Reddy said Ravindra Kumar was elected on CPI ticket in 2014 elections. However, he defected to TRS in violation of Anti-Defection Law.

He said the Speaker should either seek Ravindra Kumar's resignation or disqualify him as MLA. He said the Speaker had been urged to dispose of all disqualification petitions submitted to him.
