​Hyderabad: Telangana Crime Investigation Department on Monday registered five cases to probe allegations of Eamcet (Engineering and Medicine Common Entrance Test) 2 question paper leakage in the state.

Officials of CID, including Additional DG Satyanarain held a meeting with Director General of Police and others to discuss the case. The cases were booked under Sections 406, 408 and 420 of IPC and Section 8 of AP Public Examination (Prevention of mall practice) Act 1987. Four teams have been formed to simultaneously investigate the case.

Sources said that officials were suspecting that the question paper could have been leaked by some persons at the printing press, where some private persons reportedly met.

“The role of two brokers has been identified and also some persons from private colleges are suspected to be involved in the scam,” said sources, quoting the police.

It is also learnt that students underwent Eamcet coaching in two different private colleges at Vijayawada. The teams have indentified that the paper was leaked to students from Vijayawada, Warangal and Khammam.

The CID has sent notices to five students who are suspected to have procured the question paper before the examination. Students along with their parents were asked to appear before CID for questioning.
