Warangal: The Deputy Chief Minister, K Srihari, who holds education portfolio, appealed the students appeared for Eamcet-2 and their parents not to worry about the issue of question paper leakage.

The State government, with an objective of protecting the interests of the students, has ordered a CBCID probe into the issue. Whether to cancel the medical entrance or not would be decided by the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, after the CID submits its report, he said.

The probe was going on and many things were still coming to light in the investigation, he added but denied to speak further when approached by the press persons seeking a comment on the ongoing the question paper leakage.

Referring to an order by High Court abolishing the recent appointment of Vice-Chancellors to different universities in the State, Srihari said he could speak on the issue only after going through the court order.

Meanwhile, a large number of parents and students have met the Deputy CM at Circuit Guest House in Hanamkonda on Thursday in view of reports on the State government’s reported decision to cancel Eamcet-2 due to question paper leakage.

The students and parents demanded the government to punish those responsible for the leak but not the genuine students. The students should not be subjected to undue trouble for none of their fault, said students Nakshatra and P Harika.

The students had to prepare for the test twice and underwent tremendous pressure, now again cancelling the test would be disastrous. It was wrong to cancel the exam just because somebody committed a wrong deed, they added.

As the CID already has already identified 70 students, who were connected with question paper leak, they must be disqualified and others allowed to appear for counselling to take admissions, said a student P Sreeja of Hanamkonda.

If the government wants to prevent such incidents, it should punish the officials, who acted negligently and ensure justice to hardworking students, opined a parent Pasupunati Anand.

Meanwhile, the Health University Vice-Chancellor said no decision was taken in connection with cancellation of Eamcet-2.

A meeting was scheduled to be held with Health Minister C Laxma Reddy in Hyderabad on Friday during which the issue would be discussed.
